KIDNEY CARE QUALITY ALLIANCE - PHASE II

Background and Goals

In Phase II, the Kidney Care Quality Alliance will build upon the
foundation established in Phase I.

Specifically, during Phase II, KCQA will engage expert work groups to
assist in developing the next generation of adult clinical and quality
of life measures, establishing a starter set of pediatric measures, and
developing recommendations for implementation (such as, data
aggregation/sharing, report, acquisition).

Phase II provides the community with the opportunity to ensure the
ongoing evolution of the Kidney Care Quality Initiative.

KIDNEY CARE QUALITY ALLIANCE –ANTICIPATED ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR PHASE II

The Alliance Steering Committee, working with the expert work groups,
will develop the next generation of clinical and quality of life metrics
that when achieved and rewarded result in a significant advance in the
health of the CKD and ESRD populations (specifically address issues
related to nutrition, anemia management, and bone mineral density).
They will also provide recommendations to ensure the smooth
implementation of the necessary payment and information technology
reforms.
